You guys ever hear of a graphic novel called LORE? Me either but after today’s announcement I might actually track this one down.
Alright, LORE doesn’t seem exciting enough to run out and pick up the comics right away… but hey it caught my interest and I’m here telling you all about it so maybe there’s something to this one? You see according to the guys over at The Hollywood Reporter’s Heat Vision blog Andrew Lazar’s Mad Chance and Circle of Confusion are teaming up to bring us a big-screen adaptation of LORE, the IDW Publishing graphic novel by Ashley Wood and T.P. Louise. Now I know this isn’t ringing any bells so let me give you all the details.
The duo of Cory Goodman and Jeremy Lott have already been tapped to write the script for LORE, which producers are hoping will grow to be a franchise along the lines of MEN IN BLACK. Except instead of aliens, this franchise will deal with mythological creatures. Check out the quick synopsis:
The story focuses on a young man who reluctantly becomes a member of an elite secret order charged with protecting humanity from the beasts of folklore who invade our world.
Sounds kind of like HELLBOY, no? What do you guys think? Do you see some potential with LORE or do you think it’s a safe bet to write this one off from the get-go?
