Great Butcher’s Tale

How have I not heard of the following flick?! It sounds amazing! Let’s get right to it! The title is BLOOD: A BUTCHER’S TALE and at first I thought it was going to be about a slashing butcher. How wrong I was! Wait till you see the much more layered plot synopsis I am about to post. Prepare for a knockout:

The harrowing tale of Sam, a simple butcher who discovers that the love of his life is being seduced by a vampire. As he investigates further, he realizes that his destiny is to become the destroyer of this blood-thirsty race. Sam begins a killing spree with the slaughter of his beloved fiancé, then her blood addicted lover. Sam then makes it his duty to systematically destroy the remainder of the clan, until he hesitates on killing Lily, the last of her race. Helplessly he falls in love with Lily and learns to respect her desires as normal. Eventually Sam must decide if he is willing to repopulate the planet with the exact race he set out to destroy.

Damn, that’s deep… and bad-ass! A butcher as a vampire slayer! How come nobody’s thought of that before?! I really like the sound of this TALE. It is premiering at Cannes this year and I’m betting it’ll get picked up pretty fast. Oh, and did I even mention the fantastic cast? Check this: Emily Perkins (GINGER SNAPS) Aaron Douglas (SHATTERED), Kim Coates (SILENT HILL) and Christa Campbell (2001 MANIANCS, below)! That’s it, I’m definitely checking this one out! It was written and directed by Mark Tuit and I hope we get a release date soon.
