Last Updated on July 30, 2021

Director Martin Wilson's shark thriller Great White will be a getting a theatrical, VOD, and Digital release tomorrow, July 16th, and before the movie arrives we had the chance to talk about it with lead actress Katrina Bowden. Our video interview with Bowden can be seen in the embed above!

In this interview, Bowden discusses the challenges of the shoot, what it was like to film the underwater scenes, whether or not there were mechanical sharks on set for the cast to interact with, how she thinks she would do if she were dropped into the same situation her character experiences, and more. One of Bowden's most popular roles was Cerie on the NBC comedy series 30 Rock, and toward the end of the interview there's some 30 Rock talk as well. Watch the video to find out if she would be interested in a 30 Rock reunion.

Wilson made his feature directorial debut on Great White, working from a screenplay by Michael Boughen that was inspired by true events. The goal with this was to "tap into our most primal fear of the deep, and deliver the stuff of nightmares in the form of the ocean's most dangerous apex predator". Here's the synopsis:

A blissful tourist trip turns into a nightmare when five seaplane passengers are stranded miles from shore. In a desperate bid for survival, the group tries to make it to land before they either run out of supplies or are taken by a menacing terror lurking just beneath the surface.

Bowden was joined in the cast by Aaron Jakubenko, Kimie Tsukakoshi, Tim Kano, and Te Kohe Tuhaka.

Great White was produced by Neal Kingston, Michael Robertson, and Pam Collis through their production banner Thrills & Spills. RLJE Films' Mark Ward and Jess De Leo also earned producing credits.
