A little bird told BD at Sundance that actor
Matthew Knight
(who played Jake in

THE GRUDGE 2
– pictured above) will be
“grudging” again in the now in pre-prod THE GRUDGE
3
. GRUDGE 3 is about:

A young Japanese woman who holds the secret to
ending the Grudge curse, travels to a haunted Chicago apartment building
(from Part 2) and encounters a family battling to survive the ghosts.
Together they confront the ghost of Kayako.

This will be the first Grudge movie that Takashi Shimizu won’t
direct (good for you bro – move on). FX artist Toby Wilkins will be
helming on this round (who’s first film was the promising looking yet still
un-released SPLINTER) from a script by Brad Keene

(THE GRAVEDANCERS)
.

Hopefully new blood will bring freshness to this somewhat tired
franchise. With that said, am I the only one that smells STD with this one?
Time will tell.

I wonder if Takako Fuji will reprise her Kayako
Saeki  role? SHE BETTER!
