One of horror's most exciting TV series to be airing this year is Guillermo del Toro and Chuck Hogan's "The Strain" and today it has finally been given a premiere date! The new vampire series will make its debut on XXXXXX, which gives us plenty of time to prepare for the end of the world! When we last saw "The Strain", we were treated to some character stills that featured a handful of the show's main characters—see those right HERE.

Here's what the series will be about:

The Strain is a high-concept thriller that tells the story of Dr. Ephraim Goodweather (Stoll), the head of the Center for Disease Control Canary Team in New York City. He and his team are called upon to investigate a mysterious viral outbreak with hallmarks of an ancient and evil strain of vampirism. As the strain spreads, Eph, his team, and an assembly of everyday New Yorkers wage war for the fate of humanity itself.

"The Strain" stars Corey Stoll (above), Mia Maestro (below), Sean Astin, Roger Cross, Leslie Hope, Regina King, Robert Maillet, Lauren Lee Smith, Miguel Gomez, Kevin Durand, David Bradley, and Richard Sammel.
