Fangoria recently chatted a bit with Nick Principe on a couple projects he’s involved with. Who’s Nick Principe? Principe is the man behind ChromeSkull from the upcoming LAID TO REST. Well during this interview Principe spilled a few tidbits on the upcoming comic adaptation HACK/SLASH.
Now these aren’t huge details, but if you’re like me they’re definitely welcome and may spike your interest! I’ll just go ahead and quote Principe a bit: “As of right now, I’m playing the lead slasher out of four or five, with the possibility of playing another… It’s the biggest-budget slasher flick I’ve ever heard of, so a lot of the details as far as who will play Cassie Hack and Vlad are super-hush-hush—but it’s between three very high-profile actors.”
That sounds all good to me! Then again the ‘high-profile actors’ thing might mean a dreaded watered-down version of HACK/SLASH… let’s hope not! Todd Lincoln will be directing HACK/SLASH. He also penned the script with Justin Marks. The movie is heading our way from Rogue Pictures. The plot centers on Cassie Hack, a young woman who travels the country and takes on homicidal maniacs and serial killers along the way with her freakish, gas mask wearing partner Vlad.
So we’ll be seeing Cassie battle a handful of baddies in the flick. Awesome. Who do you think they’re looking at for Cassie and Vlad? Well it’s no secret that Megan Fox’s name has been thrown around and the obvious choices for Vlad that come to mind are Vin Diesel or Dwayne Johnson… but let’s hope they’re looking outside the box with this one and come up with something great!
