The long-delayed film adaptation of HACK/SLASH has found its latest director: Marcus Nispel.

Nispel, of FRIDAY THE 13th, TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE and CONAN THE BARBARIAN fame, has climbed aboard the Relativity Media project, which has been in development for several years.

Todd Lincoln (THE APPARITION) and commercial director Fredrik Bond have both been attached to HACK/SLASH at different times, Lincoln as far back as 2006. Obviously, neither worked out, so Relativity will have to hope against hope that Nispel’s vision drives the flick into a greenlight. Alexandra Milchan, Adrian Askarieh and Daniel Alter are producing.

HACK/SLASH tells the ongoing adventures of Cassie Hack (daughter of the evil slasher known as The Lunch Lady), who rejected her mother’s murderous ways and instead devoted her life to hunting down slashers with her partner Vlad.

Megan Fox was once said to be interested in portraying Cassie Hack
