HACK/SLASH is a movie where the entire pitch can be conveyed through one picture, which I’ve posted to the right. If you needed more of an explanation than that, it’s about a girl named Cassie Hack who prances around in comically short skirts, killing those she deems “Slashers,” individuals with the overwhelming need to kill, a-la-your typical Freddy, Jason, Michael Myers-type baddies.
It’s like if Dexter was played by Zooey Deschanel in stripper gear, and needless to say, it’s a comic that needs a film adaptation. The project has a director (Fredrik Bond) and now just landed a writer in the form of Stephen Susco.
You may remember Susco’s previous work adapting THE GRUDGE for American audiences. Now, I may have thought that was one of the world foreign movie adaptations I’ve ever seen, but I guess I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt for the sake of this movie being made. I have a feeling this is the type of film where the script isn’t really going to matter so much as the action and the legs poking out from that skirt.
