Haley Joel Osment Silicon Valley

Haley Joel Osment saw dead people in THE SIXTH SENSE and a walrus person in Kevin Smith's TUSK, and was seen sporting a hell of a beard on the TV show Silicon Valley earlier this year. Next he'll be venturing into the world of The X-Files, having signed on to guest star in an episode of the revived show's 11th season.

The episode Osment will be appearing in sounds like it will be especially interesting, as it will be delving into the origin story of Assistant FBI director Skinner, played by Mitch Pileggi.

I haven't seen many episodes of The X-Files, so I don't really know anything about this Skinner character, but if he's played by the star of SHOCKER he has to be cool.

The X-Files creator Chris Carter has said the episode will feature a younger version of Skinner, and Pileggi said this about the episode:

You’re going to find out a lot more about (Skinner's) past. Fans will find out who he is, where he comes from and why he is the way he is."

David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson star in The X-Files season 11 (and this might be the end of the line for Anderson and The X-Files). Joining them, Pileggi, and Osment in the cast are William B. Davis, Annabeth Gish, Robbie Amell, Lauren Ambrose, Barbara Hershey, Brian Huskey, and Karin Konoval.

The 10 episode season will begin airing on Fox sometime in early 2018.
