Halloween Ends has officially wrapped filming, on track for October release

Last Updated on March 11, 2022

The latest Halloween sequel, Halloween Ends, started filming in Savannah, Georgia back on January 10th. A couple weeks ago, we shared the news that Jamie Lee Curtis has finished her part in the film. Now filming on Halloween Ends has wrapped for everybody. Co-producer Ryan Turek took to Instagram to share a picture of the crew on set and write,

Last night of shooting. A wrap on our Halloween trilogy. Incredible journey. Amazing cast, amazing crew. While we obviously have post-production ahead of us, it’s still an emotional night.”

Included in this image is a bit of an Easter egg for fans, a billboard ad for the Rabbit in Red Lounge. And it appears to be a strip club, as it was in the Rob Zombie movies. I can’t get the Instagram embed to work right now, so here’s an alternative embed for the image:

Halloween 2018 and Halloween Kills director David Gordon Green is directing Halloween Ends from a screenplay he wrote with Danny McBride, Paul Brad Logan, and Chris Bernier. He has confirmed that the events of this sequel take place four years after the ending of Halloween Kills, and also said,

There’s not a lot of games in it, there’s not a lot of wittiness and retro joy. It’s kind of a coming-of-age film, and it’s a very different tone. And that’s what excited me about it, is to have the three chapters that I’ve been involved in be very different from each other.”

Jamie Lee Curtis stars as franchise heroine Laurie Strode, possibly playing the character for the last time ever. She’s joined in the cast by Andi Matichak as Laurie’s granddaughter Allyson, Kyle Richards as Lindsey Wallace, and Michael O’Leary as Doctor Mathis. James Jude Courtney is reprising the role of Michael Myers, and original Michael Myers performer Nick Castle will have a cameo.

casting call gave descriptions of more characters:

Among them are a self-assured nurse named Erin who is between the ages of 28 and 35 and is very judgmental, as well as a Proprietor between the ages of 40 and 80 years old. Other roles being cast for the film are Scott, Donna, Mr. Meade and Mrs. Meade.

Per the breakdowns, Scott is a male between the ages of 52 and 57; he is stern, strong and a straight shooter who is sometimes checked out. While Donna is a 55 to 65 year old female who is Timothy’s overbearing and critical mother. Mr. Meade and Mrs. Meade are the parents to a young boy named Noah who is a nice kid with the ability to switch to a jerk on a dime. Both Mr. and Mrs. Meade are described as being between the ages of 40 and 50 years old. They’re a middle-class suburban family, with the father being described as “tough as nails” and the mother said to showcase “emotional depth.”

Other roles being cast are Brandon, Young Johnny and Veronica. Brandon is a male between the ages of 40 and 60. He is a large man in weight and sense of authority who finds his son to be a disappointment. Young Johnny is a male between the ages of 6 and 10 who has long blonde hair with a slight gap between his teeth; the character is described as having dark eyes being a bit small. Veronica is the last of the trio. She’s between the ages of 40 and 45 and is a strong-willed protective wife who is broken “by the reminders of tragedy.”

Halloween Ends has wrapped filming and is scheduled to reach theatres on October 14, 2022
