Hansel & Gretel’s Halloween tells the story of how on Halloween night, six teens enter a candy-coated labyrinth from the tale of Hansel & Gretel, where a deadly Witch turns temptation into traps—and resisting the sweetest lure is their only way out.
Devilworks explained to Daily Dead:
“Hansel & Gretel’s Halloween is a Devilworks original—we developed the concept in-house and fully financed and executive produced the film. We brought in Chris Hoyt to write the screenplay, and partnered with Marcus Mallard at Mouldy Rogue Productions and Logan Walcher at Proxima Bear Production to direct and produce.”

Directed by Marcus Mallard and Logan Walcher, Hansel & Gretel’s Halloween stars Christy Tate as Amelia/The Witch, Griffin Edge as Hansel, Alexia Berry as Gretel, Aubree Payne, Nehemiah Auzer, Madison Sein, Tate Skelton, Amanda Stump, and Caroline Kelly.
Marcus Mallard said:
“Working with Devilworks on Hansel & Gretel’s Halloween was an amazing experience! Samantha and Matteo are supportive and encouraging of independent filmmakers, which allowed us to go all in on our creative vision for the project. The script was set, but Logan and I were able to really amp up our horror aesthetics to accentuate the fantasy elements. Devilworks always had our backs on creative decisions and made the process truly enjoyable!”
Logan Walcher added:
“The vision for this film was to inject new life into the legend of Hansel and Gretel and make it into something authentically scary. The actors captured the sense of horror and Christy Tate brought life to The Witch that makes her terrifyingly cool. It’s like Goosebumps cranked up to 11. In addition to directing, Marcus Mallard and Logan Walcher produced the film alongside Leah Heitzke-Mallard and Chris Hoyt. Logan Walcher also served as cinematographer and editor, the score was composed by Bitter Machine, and Leah Heitzke-Mallard handled production design.
