Happy Death Day scores $100 million worldwide box-office

I was really looking forward to Blumhouse's time-loop slasher flick HAPPY DEATH DAY when I first heard about it. Then I saw the babyface mask and was all aboard. But then the flick was slapped with a PG-13 rating from the MPAA and most if not all of my enthusiasm for the film was gone.

I have nothing against a PG-13 horror movie (DRAG ME TO HELL taught me that lesson) but PG-13 slashers are just not my cup of tea. I have yet to see one that works. If not any other subgenre of horror, slashers need some blood and gore.

Anyhow, it looks like HAPPY DEATH DAY didn't need my $13 to be a hit as Deadline is reporting the film has just crossed $100 million worldwide. Now I know what you're thinking, "Slow news day, huh?", but this is interesting news in that it basically means Blumhouse will HAVE to make a sequel, right?

I don't know, but don't be surprised if before the end of the year is out we get an announcement about HAPPY DEATH DAY 2.

What did you think of the PG-13 slasher? Are you going to watch it once it hits VOD? Make sure to hit us up and let us know in the comments below or on social media!
