Happy V. Day!

Well it’s VALENTINE’S DAY
today. To some its a day to celebrate the love they feel for their better halves (although
in my book you should celebrate that everyday), to many its a day that
re-integrates the fact
that they are alone at the moment and to others they just don’t give a flying, heart shaped, chocof*ck
about it. Either way…

…here’s one of the cooler scenes from the “gets better
with repeat viewing” slasher flick VALENTINE, to put some
“love” in the air.

And here are some of my
recommendations
as to “which lovey-dovey
horror flick you should watch on this day”
:
Candyman
(stellar horror love story),
Valentine
(uneven but has good bits),
My Bloody Valentine
(average slasher having to do with the day – unless its the uncut version),
The Fly
(Cronenberg version – gets me every time),

The Fly II
(unappreciated)
Return of the Living
Dead 3
(Sid and Nancy with zombies),

Immortality
(little known vamp film starring Jude Law)
Interview with a
Vampire
(asexual love triangle baby), Phantom of the Opera
(Englund version – pretty damn good), Coppola’s Bram
Stoker’s Dracula
(Oldman owns it!) and the
genius that is
Cemetery Man
(love-lust horror story).

Here’s what I
will be doing on Valentine’s Day! Yeehaw!
