JoBloJoBlo

Tom Felton, having made a career as “Draco Malfoy” from the HARRY POTTER films, is the latest to join the cast of Fox’s impending RISE OF THE APES.

Felton, who joins thespians James Franco, Freida Pinto, John Lithgow, Brian Cox, and Andy Serkis, will play the son of Cox’s character, the villainous owner of a primate facility.

As Variety puts it, RISE OF THE APES “revolves around man’s experiments with genetic engineering that lead to a dramatic increase in the intelligence of apes and the onset of war for supremacy.”

Felton will next be seen in HARRY POTTER AND THE DEATHLY HALLOWS and then next year in a film called THE APPARITION. The Planet of the Apes prequel is expected to begin filming later this month and is looking at a June 24, 2011 release.
