Our friends over at Dread Central posted an odd bit of news today. Apparently David Cronenburg’s DEAD RINGERS is being developed as a series for HBO. I’ll give you a moment to let that settle in.
Here’s what the esteemed Mr. Rotten shared: Last night I attended a press screening for Doom and while waiting for the bloody carnage to begin I noticed that the press notes stated screenwriter Wesley Strick was developing a Ringers series for HBO with Cronenberg serving as executive producer.
My initial reaction is along the lines of What the f*ck?! However, I do love most HBO series, and I totally dug DEAD RINGERS. Besides if Cronenburg is executive producing I’m gonna choose to believe he’s having creative input on a concept that he really got excited about.
If not, then no biggie since I’ve already got about 213 HBO shows that I watch religiously so I don’t really need to pick up another one.
