A musical stage version of the film is in the works, courtesy of… Andy Fickman, director of Disney’s THE GAME PLAN and RACE TO WITCH MOUNTAIN? Sure, why not?
Fickman previously did the musical REEFER MADNESS, and is working with partner Kevin Murphy again on the HEATHERS tunes with the hope of getting the show on Broadway in 2010 under the blessing of original writer Dan Waters. What’s more, they’ve apparently been doing secret tests already with people like Kristen Bell as lead Veronica and Christian Campbell as JD, roles previously made famous by Winona Ryder and Christian Slater.
The original film revolves around a quartet of popular high school girls whose lives are disrupted by a rebellious new student who convinces one of the girls to start killing cruel classmates.
