Helena Mattsson books a room in American Horror Story: Hotel

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

The last time Helena Mattsson, the Swedish star of SPECIES: THE AWAKENING, dabbled in the horror genre, she was playing a role on the short-lived series 666 PARK AVENUE. The actress is returning to genre television this year, moving on from a demonic apartment building to AMERICAN HORROR STORY: HOTEL.

Mattsson revealed this news on her Instagram account by posting a picture of a studio backlot with the note,

Another day at work. Getting ready to film some scary stuff.. #thatsallicansay #americanhorrorstory

The details of her role are being kept secret, but if IMDb's information is accurate her character is named Agnetha.

Mattsson joins a cast that includes Lady Gaga, Emma Roberts, Kathy Bates, Angela Bassett, Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Wes Bentley, Matt Bomer, Denis O'Hare, Finn Wittrock, Chloe Sevigny, Cheyenne Jackson, and Max Greenfield.

AMERICAN HORROR STORY: HOTEL will premiere on FX in October. Lady Gaga recently revealed on her own Instagram, with a shot of a lipstick-stained script cover, that one of the episodes will be appropriately titled "Checking In".

I'm a bit behind on AHS, and by that I mean I've only watched maybe the first two episodes of the first season, but the show certainly looks interesting judging by what I've seen from the sidelines.
