The Dread Central boys got word from Once Lost Productions today about THE HELL HOUSE, a 70’s/80’s slasher throwback that is currently in pre-production. Specifically they were told the flick is, “a terrifying new take on the ‘man in the mask’ of yesteryear, and a touch of voyeurism.”
The story itself as described at the Official Site goes like this:
In the Fall of 1999, two weeks after being held accountable for the escape of a patient and the deaths of six people, Doctor Thomas A. Q. Gore committed suicide in his home. Though the suicide was called in to local authorities by a live in assistant, police never found a body, nor any evidence that the Doctor and his assistant ever lived in the residence.
In the years to come after the reported suicide, the number of missing persons in the surrounding area more than tripled. In all counts of recovery, all were found dead, and the bodies were all strangely discovered within what appeared to be a quarter of a mile around the former Doctors home.
There is some pretty cool background info on the story here, but they will have to be careful that this nasty little beast doesn’t become too derivative of MALEVOLENCE.
Nevertheless, it certainly has the potential to be a bloody good ride.
