Hellkat trailer: Glimpse at MMA horror film grapples online

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

So this is a fun idea! Uncork'd Entertainment has just released a new, campy trailer for Hellcat, their low-budget Mortal Kombat knock-off film about an MMA fighter kicking ass in Hell (and you all know how I love me some death tournaments with monster-men!), which – again – sounds fun, and looks…well, let's just say they forgot an apostophe in the official trailer. But the make-up effects seem competent for what I believe their budget was, and Sarah T. Cohen at least has some nice screen presence! That's something, right?

Anyway, you can check out the trailer at the top of the article, and below is the official synopsis:

Katrina is a washed-up MMA fighter who must come back to the ring and fight in a tournament to save her son’s life. But the tournament is in hell, and she will have to fight her way past man, beasts, and the demons that haunt her from within.

Meanwhile, Hellkat – directed by Scott Jeffrey & Rebecca J Matthews and starring Sarah T. Cohen, Ryan Davies, Serhat Metin, Adrian Bouchet, AJ Blackwell, Clive Cohen, Abi Casson Thompson – will be available On Demand and DVD February 2, 2021!

So what do you guys think? And what's your favorite sport-based horror film? Either way, sound off below!
