Way back in April Mike showed you all the trailer for Bo Zenga’s STAN HELSING. Cheesy… ridiculous… hilarious! The trailer definitely sold me! If it sold you too then today’s news will put a smile on your face.
Previously without distribution it seems STAN HELSING is no longer an orphan because The Hollywood Reporter dropped word today that Anchor Bay have scooped this one up! And we’ll be seeing it very soon! Anchor Bay Films are planning on unleashing STAN HELSING in a targeted theatrical release within the next couple of months followed by a DVD release this October! If you’ve been wanting to see Stan battle some of the genre’s most famous baddies you won’t have to wait long!
HELSING follows a video store clerk named Stan Helsing who learns that he is a descendant of the monster hunter Van Helsing on Halloween night while making a routine video delivery. He finds himself in a battle with parodies of such movie monsters as Freddy, Jason, Leatherface, Pinhead, Michael Myers and Chucky. It stars Leslie Nielsen, Diora Baird (below), Steve Howey and Kenan Thompson. When an actual release date is confirmed we’ll be sure to pass along the good word!
