Henry Cavill says we’ll see “the true Superman” in Justice League

Holy shit, JUSTICE LEAGUE is almost upon us! I've been waiting almost thirty years for this movie, and while I have my reservations, I've been coming around hard on what I've been seeing so far. I'm not expecting anything perfect, but as long as the characters are fundamentally who they're supposed to be, and the action is fun, I'll have no (or at least few) complaints. Hell, even though the early reviews were somewhat lukewarm, they mentioned the characters were a highlight, which is great!

This seems to be true of Superman, whose portrayal has been much-maligned the past couple movies. However, in a recent interview with Henry Cavill from an official JUSTICE LEAGUE magazine, it seems that Superman will be back to the paragon of hope we know and love:

Geoff Johns and I have been delving into the history of the character to get to the core of who Superman is. This is the first time we see the true Superman. The Superman who is confident, and sure, and full of hope and joy…Superman is more the moral compass for the League.

That sounds great! While I've been a big defender of MAN OF STEEL, I have to admit that the ending with Zod always rubbed me the wrong way. To see him become the beacon of hope that was promised in the first film, coming to fruition in JUSTICE LEAGUE, will possibly make the other missteps forgiven. I hope, at least.

Meanwhile, JUSTICE LEAGUE will hit theaters November 17th, and I can't deny that I'm super excited!
