Here’s your first look at Elizabeth Banks as Rita Repulsa from Power Rangers

Power Rangers

We've already seen a picture of our main heroes form POWER RANGERS (see above), but now it's time to see what director Dean Israelite (PROJECT ALMANAC) has up his sleeve in terms of design. At least, when it comes to Elizabeth Banks' as the villainous Rita Repulsa. For those of you wanting a traditional crossover, you may be disappointed. However, if you dig Elizabeth Banks as much as I do, prepare yourself for a fetish you never knew you had!

Elizabeth Banks told People that this is a "modern and edgy re-imagining of the original Rita Repulsa." "Edgy re-imagining" is the key term here so I think we can expect the rest of our heroes and villains to also receive a visual upgrade. As far as I'm concerned, it's a win-win scenario. POWER RANGERS will either be a really cool film and capture an entirely new market, or it will remain cheesy and please those who grew up with the show. Either way, I'm guessing it'll be entertaining!

POWER RANGERS will open in theaters on March 24, 2017.
