Hideo Kojima’s P.T. demo confirmed to not be playable on PS5

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

While this doesn't come as much of a surprise, but Konami has just confirmed that P.T. – the stealth SILENT HILLS demo by Hideo Kojima and Guillermo del Toro that was released on the PS4 back in 2014 – won't be backwards compatible with the PS5.

Again, while this seems like a pretty obvious outcome, there were those who thought that since PT wasn't on the list of PS4 games that wouldn't be backwards-compatible with PS5 (a list that includes games such as AFRO SAMURAI 2, JUST DEAL WITH IT!, and HITMAN GO) that there was a possibility…however slim…that P.T. not being listed there meant it was.

But alas, GameRadar got an official email from Konami representatives, which stated:

[T]he content [P.T.] will not be available on the PS Store, so users won’t be able to re-download the content through the backwards compatibility feature to the PS5.

However, there does seem to be the possibility to transfer the game from consolde-to-console if you already happen to have it, but there's also a possibility P.T. still might not work regardless, given that it wasn't tested by SIE for the PS5.

But what do you guys think? Fans of P.T.? If so, how do you play it? Either way, sound off below!
