Over the weekend a real horror movie took the box office crown from SCARY MOVIE 4. SILENT HILL pulled in a slightly better than expected 20.2 million bucks. Despite mixed critical response and (see The Arrow’s review here) the albatross of being a videogame adaptation, it’s clear audiences wanted to visit SILENT HILL.
As Roger Avary mentioned in our interview with him the other day, the concept of a sequel was floated before the movie opened, so expect some news on that fairly soon. Overall, good news for some good guys; and no matter what you thought of the flick, it’s certainly a helluva lot better than a tired horror spoof.
