Cheryl Hines, who’s all kinds of awesome as Larry David TV wife on HBO’s “Curb Your Enthusiasm”, will join Katherine Heigl and Gerard Butler in the romantic comedy THE UGLY TRUTH. Coming from the LEGALLY BLONDE combo of director Robert Luketic and scribes’ Karen McCullah Lutz and Kirsten Smith, the story follows a morning show producer (Heigl) who’s sent on a series of wacky hijinks by Butler’s “chauvinistic correspondent” character in order to help her find love. Hines will be playing the show’s prim and proper co-anchor. Production is expected to begin next month. Hines recently wrapped filming on her feature directorial debut SERIOUS MOONLIGHT, has signed on to star in an untitled Sam Mendes comedy and can next be seen in the dramedy HENRY POOLE IS HERE and lends her voice to the animated flicks’ THE LEGEND OF SECRET PASS and SPACE CHIMPS.
