Hit the Interstate

Producer Eddie Granillo dropped us a line to let us know about a new film that he recently produced. The movie in question is called INTERSTATE, which was written and directed by homegrown-talent (that’s Canada, in this case), Marc A. Samson.

The film, which finished principcal shooting last August and is now in post, stars Shiloh Fernandez, Walter Pena, Alexandra Ackerman, Jodi Stanford, Chase Mallen, Cindy Clark and PHANTASM alumni, Reggie Bannister. The story goes like this: A Montreal DJ following his girlfriend to Los Angeles meets a couple of hitchhikers, Veronica
and Gloria. The journey takes a strange turn when Edgar involuntarily ingests drugs and becomes stranded with the girls in a seedy roadside motel. Revelations are made and Veronica uncovers Edgar’s dark secret. She blackmails him for everything he’s got. Sounds like fun, don’t you think?

On the official site (which you can find a link to below), which is crafted to look, well, awesome (which it is), you can find photos from the production shoot, as well as info on Mr. Granillo and Mr. Samson, and the film’s trailer (click on the ‘Footage’ link to get to it). There’s even a little easter egg of sorts on the site (hint: try looking at the bottom of the page), which gives some info on one of the hitchhikers. Enjoy!
