This year’s Halloween celebrations have come to an end, but Disney+ still has a treat left in their bag in the form of a Hocus Pocus 2 plot synopsis. Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kathy Najimy have ridden their broomsticks to Rhode Island, where filming for Hocus Pocus 2 is officially underway, my pretties. With cameras already rolling, it’s only a matter of time before the witchy trio cast their next spell.
Per Disney+, here is the House of Mouse’s Hocus Pocus 2 plot synopsis:
Picking up 29 years after a teen named Max (played by Omri Katz in the original 1993 film) lit the Black Flame Candle and resurrected the three 17th-century child-essence-stealing sorceresses, Winifred (Midler), Sarah (Parker), and Mary (Najimy) are now looking for revenge. With the Sanderson Sisters back to terrorize Salem, it’s up to three high school students to stop them. How do you do that? By summoning the wrath of an enchantress, of course. Those three teens are Becca (Gossip Girl‘s Whitney Peak), Cassie (Dirt‘s Lilia Buckingham), and Izzy (American Horror Stories‘ Belissa Escobedo), by the way.
Additional casting is currently underway, though we do know that Doug Jones will return for the sequel to reprise his role as Billy Butcherson, the loveable scarecrow-like zombie from the original film. Other new cast members include Hannah Waddingham (Ted Lasso, Game of Thrones) Tony Hale (Veep, The Mysterious Benedict Society), Sam Richardson (We’re the Millers, Detroiters), Juju Brener (Vanquish), Froy Gutierrez (Teen Wolf), Taylor Paige (Earwig and the Witch), and introducing Nina Kitchen.
