Hood for Stigmata 2

I generally like Gabriel Byrne, but there was something about STIGMATA that I just couldn’t get into. Maybe it was because Patricia Arquette drives me a little bonkers (i.e., she’s annoying), or because the film just ain’t ‘all that.’ Either way, I never liked STIGMATA… which brings a striking pain to my heart to report that a STIGMATA 2 is in the works – from the writer of HALLOWEEN: RESURRECTION.

You heard me right. STYD is reporting that Sean Hood had been hired to write (before the strike) the straight-to-DVD sequel, though there’s no story or plot details to be revealed yet. I’m guessing it’ll have to do with a chick who goes through hell as she becomes victim to the ‘stigmata.’ Though, as it’s a sequel, it’ll probably be a dude who get’s the ‘stigmata.’

Hood also had a hand in writing THE CROW: WICKED PRAYER and Lucky McGee’s MASTER OF HORROR episode SICK GIRL. That one is actually pretty good, so I have hope that Hood is evolving into a better writer with every project. He’ll have to work extra hard to make us forget about HALLOWEEN: RESURRECTION, though.
