Abbey Lee is the latest to join Nicolas Winding Refn's The Neon Demon

Abbey Lee

Earlier this month it was announced that Nicolas Winding Refn’s THE NEON DEMON found its leading lady in Elle Fanning, and now Deadline is reporting that Abbey Lee (above) is in negotiations to star alongside Fanning. She's not exactly a household name (yet), but seeing as how she'll be seen in MAD MAX: FURY ROAD, I'd imagine we'll be getting to know her very well around these parts.

Lee will play the role of Sarah, a cool ringleader of a maniacal group of models. Awesome. Fanning’s character on the other hand is an aspiring model who is caught in a world of beauty and demise. Coming from Refn, it’s hard to get a pulse on what we’re actually in store for. It sounds like a wicked and mysterious good time, though.

Written by Refn and newcomer Mary Laws, THE NEON DEMON is a female-driven horror film that the director’s longtime producing partner Lene Borglum will produce via their Space Rocket banner. French titans Gaumont and Wild Bunch are co-financing the film, which will start production in March in Los Angeles. The two companies began selling the project at AFM last fall.
