Amy Adams talks to aliens in two trailers for Denis Villeneuve's Arrival

Arrival Amy Adams Denis Villeneuve

Last week, a teaser trailer gave us an intriguing first look at PRISONERS director Denis Villeneuve's sci-fi thriller ARRIVAL, ending with the promise that a full trailer would be released on August 16th. That day has come, and not only do we have a full domestic trailer to share today, there is also an international trailer to check out.

Written by Eric Heisserer and based on a short story by Ted Chiang, ARRIVAL was formerly known as STORY OF YOUR LIFE. This story takes place

after alien crafts land around the world. An expert linguist is recruited by the military to determine whether they come in peace or are a threat. As she learns to communicate with the aliens, she begins experiencing vivid flashbacks that become the key to unlocking the greater mystery about the true purpose of their visit.

Amy Adams, Jeremy Renner, Forest Whitaker, and Michael Stuhlbarg star.

Both new trailers can be seen below and reveal a whole lot more of what ARRIVAL will have to offer when it reaches theatres on November 11th. It doesn't look mind-blowing to me, but it does appear to be an interesting approach to the "first contact" scenario.

Extra Tidbit: Will you see ARRIVAL in the theatre?
