Boyle’s 28 Months Later?

Our own Arrow brought us the news a few weeks back that 28 MONTHS LATER was most definitely in the works, with a director tentatively attached, Paul Andrew Williams (THE COTTAGE). It turned out that Williams was not the right fit for the material (read about that HERE), but the sequel is still on, and it might have found a helmer in the most obvious of places. That person would be DANNY BOYLE, who of course started it all by directing 28 DAYS LATER. He went on to produce 28 WEEKS LATER as well as direct some 2nd Unit on it. Now it seems he’s anxious to return to the land of the infected.

When asked about this possibility by SciFi Wire, Boyle responded: “I feel the idea is quite a strong idea, and it could well involve directing it. Yeah, absolutely.”

“I’ve got an idea for it, so I can’t really tell you any more than that at the moment, but hopefully that might happen.”

What, you expected to learn everything about it right off the bat? The point is that we might see just what the hell the world looks like 2 years after the initial carnage, and I’m guessing it’s not going to be pretty. Might this puppy be post-apocalyptic? Here’s hoping we find out soon enough…

Will survivor “Tammy” (Imogen Poots) be back for another go-round?
