Director Adam Robitel already talking Escape Room 2

Last Updated on July 21, 2021

It was just earlier today that we shared our review of THE TAKING OF DEBORAH LOGAN and INSIDIOUS: THE LAST KEY director Adam Robitel's ESCAPE ROOM starring Logan Miller, Deborah Ann Woll, Taylor Russell, Tyler Labine, Jay Ellis, and Nik Dodani. Our own Jimmy O gave the film a 7/10 rating saying the movie "may not reinvent the wheel or shock audiences with any major revelation, but it certainly manages to entertain."

Good enough for me. The movie is all set to open in theaters tomorrow and today we already have word via our buddies over at Daily Dead that the director has a lot of cool ideas for a sequel and would love to do one if it makes financial sense.

Director Adam Robitel:

We have a lot of ideas…we would love to do one. We're not so arrogant as to think that this is a sure thing, and I think ultimately the audience will decide what will happen. Unfortunately, moviemaking is still a business, and so it would have to make financial sense to make another one. I do think there are innumerable storylines and there are so many styles of escape rooms out there, that we could definitely keep coming up with cool ideas.

As you might imagine, I have not yet had the chance to check out the movie so I cannot speak to whether or not I'd even been up for the idea of another entry. But that said, the trailer was pretty cool and the idea of a series of horror movies with different themed escape rooms as their locations just seems like a sure bet to me. But what do you think? Hit us up and let us know below!

The story of the original follows

six strangers who find themselves in circumstances beyond their control and must use their wits to survive.

The cast includes Logan Miller, Deborah Ann Woll, Taylor Russell, Tyler Labine, Jay Ellis, and Nik Dodani. Neal H. Moritz (I KNOW WHAT YOU DID LAST SUMMER, URBAN LEGEND) and Ori Marmur (JACK THE GIANT SLAYER, BATTLE LOS ANGELES) produce the film. ESCAPE ROOM hits a theater near you tomorrow January 4th, 2019. Will you be making sure to catch a screening of the flick once it hits? Let us know below!
