EXCLUSIVE: Behind the Sightings mixes found footage and clowns

Personally, I'm thinking this new flick BEHIND THE SIGHTINGS may have the makings of the scariest flick this year. Take the found footage genre (responsible for the scariest movies, in my opinion, like BLAIR WITCH PROJECT and PARANORMAL ACTIVITY) and add in f*cking clowns to the mix?!

Terror ensues.

Today we have the first look at the creepy as sh*t poster for the film from director Tony H. Cadwell, which you can peep below. But before that check out the synopsis and rundown, including an EXCLUSIVE quote from director Tony H. Cadwell.

BEHIND THE SIGHTINGS rundown:

Based on over 112 hours of footage recovered from the personal belongings of aspiring filmmakers Todd and Jessica Smith. The husband and wife filmmaking duo were investigating the 2016 creepy clown sighting epidemic. 

The first clown sightings occurred in August 2016 in Greenville, South Carolina. Authorities were alerted to reports by neighborhood kids stating that creepy clowns were appearing in the woods near an apartment complex.  The clown sightings spread to all 50 states and across Europe. Todd and Jessica were attempting to track down clown sighting witnesses and the clowns involved in a rash of creepy clown sightings that plagued an eastern North Carolina community.

Todd and Jessica were committed to discovering the reason for these sightings. They collected lots of information and some amazing footage. The family entrusted us with this footage. We just wanted to honor Todd and Jessica Smith’s work and expose what happened. I feel honored to be a part of this project.

Tommy Vlahopoulos of Tommy V Films, along with Tom Sulkowski are Executive Producers on the film. Tommy V Films is the production company that brought horror us the home invasion horror-thriller flick, INTRUDERS starring Martin Starr, Jack Kesy, Rory Culkin and Beth Reisgraf.

Clowns have traditionally been associated with slapstick style performance, comedy or mime, but there has always been a dark side to a clown. This is not fake news, Behind the Sightings is centered around the terrifying clown sightings that shook the world last year, and an eager couple swept up in all the phenomenon. This is a very newsworthy subject, especially with all the continuous clown sightings.
