A few months ago, we heard that Vertical Entertainment had acquired the North American distribution rights to visual effects artist Ken Locsmandi's feature directorial debut BEYOND WHITE SPACE, a film that could be described as "Moby Dick (or JAWS) in space" – with a touch of ALIEN for good measure. We're now less than two weeks out from the release Vertical will be giving the movie, and a trailer for it can be seen below.

Written by Ryan Colucci and Clay McLeod Chapman, BEYOND WHITE SPACE is set more than a hundred years in the future (in the year 2150, to be exact) and has the following synopsis:

During its final harvest of the season, a deep-space fishing vessel encounters a rare creature, mammoth in size and highly territorial. Matters get worse when a vicious band of scavengers intercept the vessel, leaving them with nothing. With no cargo and few supplies, the crew makes the daring decision to venture into uncharted territory and attempt to capture the creature for a large black-market take.

Holt McCallany stars alongside Dave Sheridan, Zulay Henao, Kodi Kitchen, and Tiffany Brouwer.

BEYOND WHITE SPACE will be reaching theatres and VOD on December 14th.

Check out the trailer and see what you think. To me, this looks like it could be an entertaining twist on an old story.
