Jeff Goldblum back for Independence Day 2; Liam Hemsworth also confirmed

It was just a few hours ago that we learned Jessie Usher, the lead of Starz’s series “Survivor’s Remorse”, had been cast in the Roland Emmerich-directed sequel to INDEPENDENCE DAY, playing a central character in the sequel as the son of Will Smith’s character from the 1996 film. Now we've got some more casting news as Roland Emmerich has taken to Twitter to share that Jeff Goldblum and Liam Hemsworth have signed on to fight the alien invasion. Check it out:

Wonder what kind of virus Goldblum's character will cook up to defeat the alien menace this time around. I'm just happy to see him return for the sequel!

Details on the film are scarce at the moment, though it’ll no doubt feature a return engagement with the city-destroying alien menace that humanity saw off last time. Now if we could just get Bill Pullman to return! Or even better…Randy Quaid. Hey, one can dream, right?
