Jordan Peele’s Twilight Zone reboot headed towards production

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

Of all the reboots and revivals and whatnot hitting TV in the near future, the project that excites this guy the most is writer-director Jordan Peele's upcoming reboot of THE TWILIGHT ZONE. Not only am I a major fan of the original TV series – and the 80s revival – but Peele is one of the top horror directors I keep tabs on following his Oscar-winning horror film (still strange to type that) GET OUT.

Peele will bring us our new take on THE TWILIGHT ZONE on CBS All Access with Simon Kinberg and Marco Ramirez also serving as executive producers and collaborating on the pilot episode. And today we have an update on the series via CBS All Access EVP Original Content Julie McNamara.

Julie McNamara:

We have a room, we have a first season of concepts, outlines, scripts — various stages of all these things — of that 10 eps a season. We are well on our way, and we are going to start production in the next couple of months. From a production standpoint Greg Yaitanes is overseeing that continuity.

Nice! I wasn't aware that the series was that far into the development process and looking to kick off production in the next couple of months. I guess this means that everything is running smoothly over at CBS All Access so let's hope they keep up the good work and get THE TWILIGHT ZONE on our screens ASAP.

Until then though, Jordan Peele has an all-new psychological social horror thriller coming our way soon called US. Lupita Nyong'o, Winston Duke, Elisabeth Moss, and Tim Heidecker star in the film, which started shooting last week. US is set to be released on March 15, 2019.
