NSFW: Lars von Trier’s infamous new film gets banner poster & 3 clips

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

A few days ago we passed along the news that Lars von Trier's new horror flick THE HOUSE THAT JACK BUILT was gathering up its own set of controversy over at Cannes this week as audience members walked out of its world premiere in mass, supposedly due to scenes that depicted a child getting shot and Matt Dillon's titular Jack mutilating Riley Keough

I'm not sure exactly what it says about me as a horror fan that the film instantly shot to the near-top of my must-see list following this controversial screening. Maybe I'm a glutton for punishment. Whatever the case may be, now my interest is fully piqued in the film and so I'm looking to learn all I can.

Case in point, today we have an all-new banner poster for the film – which recreates Eugène Delacroix’s The Barque of Dante painting – and three new clips. The banner poster is a bit much, I think, but the clips are a solid taste of the twisted mess the movie may be. Check them out below!

Starring Matt Dillon, Uma Thurman, Bruno Ganz, Riley Keough, Siobhan Fallon Hogan, and Sofie Grabol, the film is set in the 1970s and told

from Jack's point of view. He is a highly intelligent killer who has spent a decade perfecting the art of the perfect murder. But as the police begin to close in, he starts taking greater and greater risks in his attempt to create the ultimate artwork.

IFC Films plans to release THE HOUSE THAT JACK BUILT later this year.
