Mackenzie Davis joins the cast of Dennis Villenueve’s Blade Runner 2

BLADE RUNNER 2 has a pretty packed cast, so presumably they're nearly finished rounding out the ensemble. However, one more has slipped in India Jones-like before the doors closed. Joining the cast is Mackenzise Davis, the Canadian indie darling who has had a brief but strong career so far.

Debuting in the 2013 film BREATHE IN, she has since appeared in the romantic comedies WHAT IF and THAT AWKWARD MOMENT, graduating up to the popular series Halt and Catch Fire and nabbing a role in Ridley Scott's acclaimed THE MARTIAN (which almost certainly is what got her foot in the door for BLADE RUNNER). For horror fans, she's also appeared in the multi-genre high school horror comedy FREAKS OF NATURE as Petra the vampire.

BLADE RUNNER 2 stars Ryan Gosling, Robin Wright, Ana de Armas, Sylvia Hoeks, Carla Juri, Dave Bautista, and Harrison Ford, returning in his original role as Rick Deckard. The screenplay is being penned by Hampton Fancher and Michael Green, from a story by Ridley Scott and Fancher.

The film will run into theaters on October 6, 2017.
