Marilyn Manson’s Phantasmagoria becomes just a ghostly dream once again

Last Updated on July 23, 2021

A little less than a year ago, we brought you news that Marilyn Manson’s PHANTASMAGORIA was starting to pick up steam (for once) but some of you might not have known that was the way it pretty much was since late 2004. You got news of some crazy ALICE IN WONDERLAND project, it went silent, got news again, goes into hiding for a couple of years, Manson randomly begins on script, Manson stops to go on World Tour, Manson gets serious about directing and now the project is finally shut down…again.

For those of you haven’t really heard of Mason’s Alice project, here’s a little synopsis to get you going: A haunted writer in an isolated castle is tormented by sleepless nights and visions of a girl named Alice. He finds himself becoming a symptom of his own invention.

Word from NME is that the studio that is bringing Manson’s project to life isn’t too savvy with what they saw from the trailer. Are they just now seeing this? I’m guessing Manson’s haunted visions as Lewis Carroll seemed had a bit too much Manson in them. “The studio behind the project have shut it down following a backlash to the teaser trailer which was shown online.”

But there’s still hope right? Films get stuck in development all the time and eventually it’ll surface to the public….right? “The trailer caused such a backlash that a decision was made to close down the project. It’s unlikely it will ever see the light of day.”

So if you were looking forward to that twin lesbian sex scene involving Twiddledee and Twiddledum then I’m afraid to break the news to you: it isn’t happening for a long while. Stick with us as we get more news on the next updated status of Manson’s project.
