Tremors 5: Bloodlines Jamie Kennedy Michael Gross Don Michael Paul

Last week, TREMORS 5: BLOODLINES and TREMORS: A COLD DAY IN HELL co-star Jamie Kennedy revealed that he will not be in the upcoming sequel TREMORS: ISLAND FURY, even though his character Travis B. Welker had been in the script. Kennedy didn't share his reason for stepping away from the project, but one person who is disappointed that Kennedy and Travis won't be in the movie is the film's star, Michael Gross.

Gross, who plays franchise hero Burt Gummer, notified fans on social media that he was heading to Thailand to begin working on TREMORS: ISLAND FURY this week, and one follower asked him what his initial reaction was when he found out Kennedy won't be joining him. Gross replied,

My reaction was disappointment, as I had planned an entire storyline around his participation.

So it definitely doesn't sound like Kennedy opted out because Travis wasn't going to be given anything noteworthy to do in the movie. Kennedy's Travis is the son of Burt, but Burt wasn't aware of his existence until BLOODLINES.

Now we'll have to wait and see who will be filling the gap that was left in the story by Kennedy's departure.

BLOODLINES and A COLD DAY IN HELL director Don Michael Paul will be directing TREMORS: ISLAND FURY, working from a screenplay written by Brian Brightly. This time around,

the deadly Graboids are back, illegally brought in to a new island resort by a rich playboy looking for a trophy hunt.

All six previous TREMORS movies can be purchased in this collection. Completists will also want to pick up the episodes of the 2003 TV series.
