Updated! New Godzilla concept art revealed; first offical image of Godzilla stares you down

UPDATED WITH NEW IMAGE OF GODZILLA BELOW!

Gareth Edward's GODZILLA will be stomping into San Diego Comic-Con later this week so we're expecting to hear and see a lot of exciting things from the flick. Earlier this week we got a look at the SDCC poster for the film, and today we have a look at some concept art that gives us an idea of just how massive the Big G will be.

A visitor to Skreeonk! was able to extract this new piece of concept art from the "Godzilla Encounter" app that Legendary launched this week to promote the film at Comic-Con, and while the app apparently reveals the image piece by piece, you can see the whole thing in all of its glory below. Even better, you can click it to see a larger version!

Looks like they're going for extreme as far as size goes. I can't wait to see a full reveal of GODZILLA (hopefully this week at Comic-Con!).

UPDATE:

Deadline revealed the following image which gives us our first look at GODZILLA's face as he stares us down. It's not much, but it's something to tide us over until Legendary Pictures pulls back the curtain on the Big G (hopefully this week at Comic-Con).

It certainly appears that they went with the more traditional look for GODZILLA, rather than a horrible reimagining like that 1998 abomination. Can't wait to see more!

GODZILLA stars Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Ken Watanabe, Elizabeth Olsen, Juliette Binoche, David Strathairn and Bryan Cranston. The screenplay was penned by Max Borenstein, Frank Darabont and Dave Callaham.
