New Terminator: Genisys poster reveals a spoilery detail

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

The new one-sheet for TERMINATOR: GENISYS has, like one of the film’s trailers before it, made the curious decision to reveal a fairly sizable SPOILER from the film. If you don’t want to know what it is, cease reading and, for the love of god, don’t scroll down.

Okay, still with us? As you’ll see, the poster reveals John Connor (Jason Clarke) is either a Terminator himself or there’s a Terminator posing as John at a point in the film. The UK trailer released earlier this month also put this spoiler out there for all to see, and while it might not end up being a huge deal in the grand scheme of things, it still seems like a surprise best saved until the film is released. Oh well, guess in this day and age nothing can be kept a secret for long. The studios are spoiling things before the fans get a chance!

When John Connor (Jason Clarke), leader of the human resistance, sends Sgt. Kyle Reese (Jai Courtney) back to 1984 to protect Sarah Connor (Emilia Clarke) and safeguard the future, an unexpected turn of events creates a fractured timeline. Now, Sgt. Reese finds himself in a new and unfamiliar version of the past, where he is faced with unlikely allies, including the Guardian (Arnold Schwarzenegger), dangerous new enemies, and an unexpected new mission: To reset the future…

TERMINATOR: GENISYS opens July 1st.
