Puppet Master reboot has wrapped filming, check out the new puppets!

Last Updated on July 31, 2021

Supposedly filming has just wrapped on the new PUPPET MASTER flick PUPPET MASTER: THE LITTLEST RIECH, and this past weekend at Texas Frightmare, the filmmakers showed off the three of the film's "new" puppets.

I say "new" because the two of the puppets are basically just redesigns of Blade and Tunneler. That said, this Lizard-Clown Dude thing seems to be all-new. B-D is reporting that the puppets were redesigned and created by Tate Steinsiek, who promises "lots of gore and lots of practical effects."

B-D also learned some more cool info on the new film, including the interesting fact that PUPPET MASTER: THE LITTLEST RIECH is set in a parallel universe to the original Puppet Master films. They also learned that the new film will sport a darker and more serious tone than the other flicks, while at the same time making room for "some lighter sides" as well.

Also, and this is very cool, it's being reported that all the effects working done on the film were 100% practical. There was a bit of "rod/wire-removal", but other than that "everything you will see actually happened on set."

Nice! Gotta love that! Add all of this the fact that the new flick is written by BONE TOMAHAWK's S. Craig Zahler and stars Barbara Crampton and I am so f*cking ready for this new PUPPET MASTER!

PUPPET MASTER: THE LITTLEST REICH synopsis:

A recently divorced young man who discovers a mint condition Blade doll in his deceased brother’s closet and plans to sell the toy at a convention in Oregon celebrating the 30th anniversary of the infamous Toulon Murders.  All hell breaks loose at the Postville Lodge during the auction when a strange force animates all of the various puppets throughout the convention as they go on a bloody killing spree.

PUPPET MASTER: THE LITTLEST REICH is directed by Sonny Laguna and Tommy Wiklund from a script by S. Craig Zahler and stars Barbara Crampton, Thomas Lennon, Udo Kier, Michael Paré, Jenny Pellicer, Nelson Franklin, Alex Beh, Tina Parker, Skeeta Jenkins, and Charlyne Yi.
