Red, White and Blue director Simon Rumley lines up two thrillers

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

Simon Rumley made a bloody splash on the horror scene last year with the nasty thriller RED, WHITE & BLUE (which I, unfortunately, have not yet seen). The director is currently in prep on two more psychological horror efforts; details on both were revealed today, though nothing very in-depth is available.

The first project, titled STRANGER, is described as a chase movie located in the heart of rural China; it was apparently inspired by Steven Spielberg’s DUEL. Casting begins this week and filming is expected to begin early 2012.

The second movie is THE CHERISHED ONE, which is set in Texas and is a disturbing and dark thriller about a serial killer who uses his young daughter to entice his victims.

That’s some icky stuff right there. No telling how long we’ll have to wait to get a real look at these flicks, but good to know the man is keeping busy.

In the meantime, Rumley has a segment in the upcoming horror anthology THE ABCs OF DEATH. We’ll get a look at that at some point in 2012.
