R.I.P.: Lorina Kamburova of Leatherface has passed away at 30

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

Bulgarian actress Lorina Kamburova didn't have the opportunity to have a very long career, but she packed a lot of horror into the few short years she did have. She made her feature debut in 2017's Nightworld, starring Robert Englund, and followed that up with projects like the Texas Chainsaw Massacre prequel Leatherface, the remake Day of the Dead: Bloodline, and the video game adaptation Doom: Annihilation. Genre fans may have also seen her in Death Race: Beyond Anarchy, and she has a role in the newly released Russian film Love and Monsters (which is not related to last year's English-language film Love and Monsters).

Sadly, it has been confirmed that Kamburova passed away in a Moscow hospital last month. She was only 30 years old. The cause of death was bilateral pneumonia, the result of lung problems that developed after she caught COVID-19.

Her death was announced on Facebook by Gennady Avramenko, who was involved with Love and Monsters, and by the film's director, Ekaterina Krasner.

It's very sad to hear that Kamburova has passed away at such a young age, when she was just getting started in life and building up her screen acting career. In addition to acting, she was also in the singing duo Ross'n Lorina.
