Thomas Jane and Molly Parker star in Stephen King’s 1922 for Netflix

The adaptation of Stephen King's novel 11/22/63 was a well-received success for Hulu's VOD service earlier this year, and now Netflix is following them into the "Stephen King story with a number title" business, producing an adaptation of King's 131 page novella 1922, which was one of four stories published in the Full Dark, No Stars collection.

Zak Hilditch is directing from his own screenplay adaptation of the story, which is 

a man's confession of his wife's murder. The tale is told from from the perspective of Wilfred James, the story's unreliable narrator who admits to killing his wife, Arlette, with his son in Nebraska. But after he buries her body, he finds himself terrorized by rats and, as his life begins to unravel, becomes convinced his wife is haunting him.

1922 is the year the story is set in. I haven't read the novella yet, but judging by the summary on Wikipedia it sounds like it could make for one hell of a horror movie.

The film is set to star Thomas Jane, making this his third King project following the adaptations of DREAMCATCHER and THE MIST. Co-starring with Jane are Molly Parker, Dylan Schmid, Kaitlyn Bernard, Brian D'Arcy James, and Neal McDonough.

1922 is currently filming in Vancouver. Meanwhile, OUIJA: ORIGIN OF EVIL director Mike Flanagan is in Alabama filming another King adaptation for Netflix, GERALD'S GAME.

Two other stories contained in the Full Dark, No Stars collection have already been turned into movies – BIG DRIVER and A GOOD MARRIAGE. 1922 going into production leaves only a story called Fair Extension yet to be adapted. If that gets made, fans would be able to have a Full Dark, No Stars movie marathon.
