Four months after acquiring the distribution rights to the Blumhouse, Gunpowder & Sky, and Divide/Conquer collaboration CAM, Netflix is now gearing up to release the film through their streaming service on November 16th.

The feature directorial debut of Daniel Goldhaber, CAM is described as a "technology-driven psychological thriller set in the world of webcam porn". Goldhaber also developed the story with Isabelle Link-Levy and screenwriter Isa Mazzei.

Madeline Brewer of the Netflix shows Hemlock Grove and Orange Is the New Black stars in the film as

Alice, an ambitious camgirl, who wakes up one day to discover she’s been replaced on her show with an exact replica of herself. As this copy begins to push the boundaries of Alice’s internet identity, the control that Alice has over her life, and the men in it, vanishes. While she struggles to regain what she’s lost, she slowly finds herself drawn back to her show and to the mysterious person who has taken her place.

Patch Darragh, Devin Druid, and Melora Walters are also in the cast.

A week out from CAM's Netflix premiere, a trailer has been released online and can be seen below. The film does appear to have an interesting visual style, impressive for a first-time feature filmmaker, and if nothing else it seems to have given Brewer a fun role (or fun roles) to play.

I'll be checking out CAM after it hits Netflix next Friday.
