Trailer and images released for Netflix series Stranger Things

Last Updated on July 31, 2021

There were some interesting shots of people looking troubled and shocked in the batch of images we shared from the upcoming Netflix series Stranger Things last month, and the theme of people being troubled and shocked continues in the new images Netflix released today. Things go a step further in these pictures, though, as we see that characters are going to start taking up arms against whatever it is that's making everyone look so upset.

I was sold on Stranger Things as soon as I heard it being described as "a love letter to the '80s classics that captivated a generation" and read the synopsis:

Set in Hawkins, Indiana in the 1980s, Stranger Things chronicles the search for a young boy who vanishes into thin air under highly suspicious circumstances. His mother opens an investigation into the boy's disappearance with local authorities that unravels a series of mysteries involving top-secret government experiments, terrifying supernatural forces and one very strange little girl.

Tell that story with a cast that includes Winona Ryder, Charlie Heaton, David Harbour, Matthew Modine, Millie Brown, Natalia Dyer, and Carla Buono, then show me pictures of characters clutching axes and modified baseball bats, and you have me planning to binge watch this show as soon as possible.

After watching the newly released trailer, which can be viewed below, and seeing how cool, intriguing, and Amblin-esque this show seems to be, I'm wishing "as soon as possible" was right this minute.

But there's a month left to wait. Stranger Things makes its Netflix debut on July 15th.
