Video: Stephen King reads the first chapter of his new book If It Bleeds

A new book from author Stephen King has been released into the world, and copies of that book – titled IF IT BLEEDS – are available for purchase at THIS LINK.

IF IT BLEEDS is not, as the title may lead some to believe, a nod to PREDATOR. Instead, it's inspired by the journalism saying "If it bleeds, it leads." This book is said to be an "extraordinary collection" of

four new and compelling novellas — Mr. Harrigan’s Phone, The Life of Chuck, Rat, and the title story If It Bleeds — each pulling you into intriguing and frightening places.

In the video embedded above, Stephen King himself reads the first chapter of the title story, and the way that chapter plays out is a perfect example of how King has been able to hook so many "constant readers" over the decades.

King fans may be especially interested to hear that the IF IT BLEEDS novella features the character Holly Gibney, who King has previously written about in his MR. MERCEDES trilogy and THE OUTSIDER. In the television adaptations of those stories, Holly Gibney has been played by Justine Lupe and Cynthia Erivo.
