Will Glen/Glenda return in Cult of Chucky?

With all the news we're been getting on the CULT OF CHUCKY front, one bit - or should I say character - that has been mostly left in the shadows has been Chucky and Tiffany's little creepy son Glen (or is it Glenda?) voiced by THE LORD OF THE RINGS co-star Billy Boyd (aka Pippin The Singing One).

We haven't seen the creeper since SEED OF CHUCKY, but Glen's involvement in the new CHUCKY flick may have just been teased by two very reliable sources. I'll leave it up to you to decide if this is still "rumor" territory or "Yeah, those motherf*ckers all but came right out and said that sh*t."

I pick the latter.

Our first clue comes from writer-director Don Mancini himself by way of this tweet:

Hurm. Not much to go on with this tweet, but as a constant conspiracy theorist I will go ahead and do so anyhow. But that's not all, a while back (February, in fact) I noticed the mostly unused CULT OF CHUCKY official twitter page posted this tweet:

Now, again, this is a Twitter account SPECIFICALLY for CULT OF CHUCKY.

Back when I saw this in February, I thought, "Oh, snap. There's a news post right there!" But then I sat on it. I thought maybe I was looking too much into it. I do not think that anymore.

That said, we still do not have an "official" confirmation that the new CHUCKY flick will feature Glen (or is it Glenda?), but we do know that the little, redheaded bastard wasn't in CURSE OF CHUCKY so his return is LONG overdue.

I think CULT OF CHUCK may be just the right time for his reemergence.

CULT OF CHUCKY synopsis (via IMDb)

Confined to an asylum for the criminally insane for the past four years, Nica Pierce (Fiona Dourif) is erroneously convinced that she, not Chucky, murdered her entire family. But when her psychiatrist introduces a new therapeutic "tool" to facilitate his patients' group sessions - an all-too-familiar "Good Guy" doll with an innocently smiling face - a string of grisly deaths begins to plague the asylum, and Nica starts to wonder if maybe she isn't crazy after all. Andy Barclay (Alex Vincent), Chucky's now-grown-up nemesis from the original Child's Play, races to Nica's aid. But to save her he'll have to get past Tiffany (Oscar-nominee Jennifer Tilly), Chucky's long-ago bride, who will do anything, no matter how deadly or depraved, to help her beloved devil doll.

CULT OF CHUCKY is written and directed by Don Mancini and stars Jennifer Tilly, Fiona Dourif, Alex Vincent, Grace Lynn Kung, Michael Therriault, Zak Santiago, Summer H. Howell, and, of course, Brad Dourif as the voice of Chucky!

CULT OF CHUCKY is set to hit this Halloween.
